The Department of Safety Engineering was established in 1985, and we currently have 10 teaching staff with about 400 undergraduates, graduates and doctoral students. The Department of Safety Engineering comprises the Major of Safety Engineering and the Major of Fire Protection Engineering. The specific majors of safety engineering are chemical safety, personal safety instruments, industrial cleanliness, mechanical safety, electricity and control engineering, human engineering and system safety engineering. Fire protection engineering comprises fire detection, fire facilities, smoke control systems, fire simulation and fire extinguishing agents.
The undergraduates of safety engineering are mostly employed as government servants, and in enterprises and related organizations that recognize their unique ability. It is a specialty of our programs that our graduates have a high rate of employment.

Major of Safety Engineering
This major focuses on site environment and chemical safety, electricity and control safety, machinery and fire facility safety, human engineering and construction safety. We educate students in the necessary skills to become advanced technical managers with the professional knowledge and education to determine the reasons and results of industrial disasters in each field of our high industrial society.
Major of Fire Protection Engineering
The Major of Fire Protection Engineering aims to foster competent fire protection intellectuals who will contribute to safety control and fire facility designs and the facility management of modern industrial facilities by learning fire protection techniques not only for protection from disasters, but also fire protection safety control to protect property and life in all disasters. It has the additional specialty of having a wide range of relationships to the pharmaceutic, hygiene, psychology, economics, law and management fields.
Types of Certified Licenses
Industrial safety engineers, construction safety engineers, human engineering engineers, fire facility engineers (mechanic, electricity), gas engineers, environment engineers (air, water), industrial cleanness engineers, industrial waste disposal engineers, hazardous control industrial angineers, explosive management engineers, and non-destructive examination engineers
