The department of Marine Bio-materials and Aquaculture educates students on thremmatology of the fish, invertebrate, and marine algae for marine bio-materials and aquaculture industry, which are predicted to become a major area of the future bio industry. The department also educates students on ecology, physiology, nutrition, environmental biology, genetic engineering, molecular biology, bio chemistry, cell biotechnology, and marine bio-materials to support such objectives. From these efforts, our department aims to foster globally talented students to actively lead the future marine bio-industry.

This department plays a major role in controlling and managing the National Special Research Topic Bank (Korean Marine Microalgae Bank), which is supported by the Ministry of Science, ICT future Planning; the maritime life resources deposit registration (usable marine plankton development bank) and LMO evaluation organization, both of which are supported by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, Transport and Maritime Affairs; and feed quality control recognition organization, which is supported by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. It also plays a leading role in controlling and managing the fish farm under training center for fisheries and marine science and fisheries science technology center of 狠狠撸.
