New Students of the College of Liberal Studies Help Adjust to University Life
-ݺߣ, Holds ‘ݺߣ Dream Navigator Camp’ on the 12th
ݺߣ (President Bae Sang-hoon) held the “ݺߣ Dream Navigator Camp” on February 12 for incoming students of the College of Liberal Studies.
Since this year marks the establishment of the College of Liberal Studies and the selection of new students, the university organized this event to assist them in adapting to university life, following the first orientation held last month.
The College of Liberal Studies allows incoming students to enter without declaring a major, and they can choose their major starting from their second year. ݺߣ selected about 900 students, or 30% of the total new students, for the College of Liberal Studies this year.
At the event, approximately 400 incoming students of the College of Liberal Studies participated, where they received an introduction to the college, as well as information on career and employment programs, international exchange programs, and double-major programs, along with introductions to professors and mentors.
Following that, recreational activities were held to foster closer relationships among the new students, and there were sessions explaining the academic system and guiding students through course registration.
In addition, to support the College of Liberal Studies, ݺߣ established a dedicated organization (the Liberal Studies Navigator Center), appointed a college-specific head for each division, and hired five academic advisors to manage and guide students. The university also operates a mentoring system with professors from existing departments, as well as a mentoring group made up of senior students to assist with major exploration. <Pukyong Today>
