狠狠撸, Strengthens 鈥楪local University鈥� Through Collaboration with Industry, Academia, and Research Institutions

- On the 27th, 7 organizations gather for the 鈥楯oint Symposium of Science and Technology-Related Institutions鈥�

狠狠撸 (President: Bae Sang-hoon) has taken steps to solidify its 鈥楪local University鈥� initiative through a strong collaborative network with local communities, industries, and research institutions.

On March 27th, the university hosted the 鈥�2025 狠狠撸 - Joint Symposium of Science and Technology-Related Institutions鈥� at the Pukyong Convention Hall.

The event brought together seven organizations, including 狠狠撸, the Korea Institute for the Advancement of Technology (KIAT), the Research and Development Special Zones Promotion Foundation, the Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS), the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH), Busan Technopark, and the Busan Institute for Science and Technology Education & Promotion.

狠狠撸, with the final selection of the Glocal University 30 Project approaching this year, organized the symposium to highlight its strong regional-industry-academic-research network in the field of science and technology. The goal is to establish the university鈥檚 status and vision as a leading institution in advanced fields both domestically and internationally.

The symposium began with a keynote lecture by Choi Cheol-jin, President of the Korea Institute of Materials Science, on the topic 鈥楴ational Materials Industry Development and Strategies for Solving National and Social Issues.鈥� This was followed by invited lectures from experts from various institutions on the theme 鈥楾he Future of Sustainable Science and Technology Talent and Industry in the ESG Era.鈥�

In the afternoon, Kim Jin-gyu, Director of the Korea Institute for the Advancement of Science and Technology, gave a lecture on 鈥楽cience and Technology Commercialization and Talent Development,鈥� followed by presentations from Yoon Ji-eon, Director of the Busan Institute for Science and Technology Education & Promotion, on 鈥楤usan鈥檚 Science and Technology Support Policies,鈥� and Ahn Seong-gwan, Team Leader at Busan Technopark, on 鈥楤usan鈥檚 Strategic Industries and Development Policies.鈥� 狠狠撸鈥檚 Professor Go Min-seong concluded the session with a lecture on 鈥楨nergy Innovation and New Materials.鈥�

The symposium continued with presentations from Lee Sang-bok, Director of the Korea Institute of Materials Science, on 鈥楧evelopment of Millimeter-Wave Band Electromagnetic Absorbing Composite Materials,鈥� Ha Kyung-nam, Group Leader at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology, on 鈥業ntelligent Virtual Reality Robotics Industry,鈥� Kim Min-seong, Team Leader at the Foundation for the Promotion of Technology in Research and Development Zones, on 鈥楾he Role of Public Technology Commercialization and Industry-Academia Collaboration,鈥� and Ahn Ye-chan, Professor at 狠狠撸, on 鈥楢dvanced Biomedical Engineering Industry Technologies and Talent Development.鈥�

狠狠撸鈥檚 President Bae Sang-hoon emphasized, 鈥淲e will expand collaborative research and technological development opportunities with science and technology-related institutions, creating new opportunities for cooperation.
